Robert Lewen, M.D.
In his role for many years as Director of retinal services at AGH, Dr Lewen and his partner were chosen to participate as primary investigators for many of the initial national studies of the injectable intra ocular drugs used so extensively in retinal practice today. He has 20 years’ worth of experience in the use of these injections in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, and other common and uncommon retinal disorders. Although he no longer performs retinal surgery, Glaucoma- Cataract Consultant’s physicians rely on his experience and knowledge to coordinate all of our practice’s surgical and medical retinal care. His historical perspective on retinal care generally and his knowledge of all Pittsburgh retinal providers specifically allows him to offer our practice and all our patients a personally considered approach to their retinal difficulties and care.
Dr. Lewen also provides retinal care at our Kittanning location, which offers retinal services only.
